FLAT WICKER POLYCHROME BASKET WITH STAR BY CINTHIA AMI (HOPI)

In wicker weaving, the basket-maker commonly weaves the weft material over and under a foundation (primarily a bundle of rods or fiber). This technique is often used in the Southwest to produce serving baskets and trays, including the wicker plaques of the Hopi people in Northern Arizona. While this technique is prevalent in the American Southwest, it is less frequent in other parts of North America.
