Andersen Kee is a painter, sculptor, and silversmith from Cottonwood, Arizona. He is the seventh of fourteen children in a family deeply rooted in Navajo artistic traditions. His mother was a weaver; his father, a silversmith and oil painter. Inspired by his upbringing and surroundings, his work captures traditional Diné life through imaginative historical portraiture.
Encouraged by his high school art teacher, Larry Giller, Kee pursued formal training at the Institute of American Indian Arts in Santa Fe, followed by studies at the California College of Arts and Crafts. Beyond painting, he is an accomplished silversmith, creating unique jewelry pieces that reflect his deep respect for Navajo traditions. He has lived and worked in Taos, New Mexico, for over two decades and currently resides in Santa Fe.
