Jared Chavez is the son of well-known jeweler and lapidary artist Richard Chavez. At age 10, he received his first training in his father’s studio, learning the basic skills of metalsmithing. He attended Georgetown University, studying both digital art and printmaking before moving forward with his metalsmithing career. He later moved on to study at the Revere Academy in San Francisco, focusing his studies to enhance his jewelry making expertise.

He is well known for his intricate silver pieces incorporating exotic gemstones such as agate, jasper, fossilized ivory and crystallized dinosaur bone.
