Phoenix, AZ. Ryon carves traditional style Katsina dolls as seen from personal experience. Each one-of-a-kind figure is imbued with humor, imagination, and character. Ryon learned the art from Edward Seechoma. Much of Ryon's current work is inspired by the Kachina dolls of Wilson Tawaquaptewa (1871- 1960) who intentionally created dolls that were not exact representations of the Kachina dancers to protect their sacred nature.
Measurements: 10 1/4" 6 1/4" wide x 2 1/2" deep
Katsina dolls are fragile by nature and may be broken in transit. We do our best to pack them efficiently and carefully, however due to their fragility, transit damage is unavoidable in some cases. Please keep this in mind when purchasing katsina dolls online for shipping. Luckily, katsina dolls do not decrease in value when repaired and can usually be repaired in the comfort of your home using a mixture of wood and super glue for smaller, clean breaks.
