Anderson Koinva is from the village of Shungopavi at Second Mesa on the Hopi Reservation in Northern Arizona. He sometimes works with his wife, Berna Koinva. Anderson learned silversmithing from Berna's father, Bernard Dawahoya. He is known for traditional Hopi overlay jewelry depicting Hopi ceremonial and cultural designs. They currently live in Apache Junction, Arizona.
