STERLING SILVER MULTI-STONE INLAY EARRINGS BY JIMMY HARRISON (NAVAJO)
Jim Harrison is a distinguished Navajo jeweler and a member of the Red House Clan. Raised on the Navajo reservation, he was introduced to traditional arts by his aunt and grandmother, who were rug weavers and adorned themselves with intricate jewelry. At 16, Harrison enrolled in a silversmithing class in high school, laying the foundation for his future career. He further developed his skills under the mentorship of Preston and Jesse Monongya, who influenced his aesthetic and technique.
Harrison’s work features complex and intricate inlay designs, often depicting night skies, Ye’ii figures and Navajo landscapes. He has received numerous accolades, including awards from the Santa Fe Indian Market, Navajo Nation Fair, Museum of Northern Arizona, and the New Mexico State Fair. His work has been featured in publications like American Indian Art Magazine, Cosmopolitan, and Sunset Magazine.
