POTTERY VASE BY JUANITA FRAGUA (JEMEZ)

Juanita Fragua was born in 1935 and is a member of the Corn Clan. She has been active making pottery since the 1950's. She was taught by her mother Rita Magdalena. Juanita is best known for her hand sculpted melon pots. She digs her clay at the Jemez Reservation and uses natural pigments in her decoration.
