Marcella Yepa was born in 1963 into the Jemez Pueblo and is a member of the Sun Clan. She began working with clay at the age of 19. She was taught by her paternal grandmother Felipita Yepa and her aunt Alvina Yepa. She specializes in coiled melon-style pottery.
