Black Wedding Vase by Harrison Begay (Navajo) Harrison Begay Jr. was born on the Navajo Reservation near Keams Canyon in 1961. He grew up in Arizona and Utah and studied painting in college in New Mexico. He married into the Santa Clara Pueblo and learned pottery making from his mother-in-law. He makes pottery in the Santa Clara style but uses Navajo symbolism such as the bear. He is known for his clean and precise, deeply carved designs. This vase measures 9 inches tall by 17 inches in circumference. Approximate diameter measures 5 1/2 inches.
