Teec Nos Pos raised outline rug by Marjorie Donegie (Navajo)
The Teec Nos Pos style originated near the Four Corners on the north side of the Carrizo Mountains on the Navajo Reservation. The name translates as "Circle of Cottonwoods." Teec Nos Pos rugs are characterized by a wide border filled with geometric designs. These rugs are often quite large and very lively. They can be woven with any color scheme and usually feature outlines in contrasting colors around the majority of designs.
