c. 1919 miniature Degikup basket by Datsolalee (Washoe)
Louisa Keyser (c. 1840s – 1925), was a Washoe weaver better known as Datsolalee. She remains one of the most acclaimed Indigenous basket weavers in the field. During the arts and crafts movement in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, Datsolalee baskets became highly sought after by collectors. Today, these artworks rarely come available on the market, as most reside in private and museum collections as well as various academic and cultural institutions.
