Sterling Silver Pendant with Morenci Turquoise by Shane Hendren (Navajo) Shane Hendren was born in 1970 at Tohatchi on the Navajo Reservation in northwest New Mexico. He studied at the Institute of American Indian Arts in Santa Fe, New Mexico where he graduated with a degree in Museum Management. In 1997, he earned a second degree in Studio Art from the University of New Mexico. In addition to making his art, he has been a professional bull rider and horse trainer. He has won awards for his work at the Heard Museum Indian Market, the Eiteljorg Indian Market and the Santa Fe Indian Market and he won Best of Show at the New Mexico State Fair in 2002. He was the Indian Arts and Crafts Association's Artist of the Year for 2007-2008. This pendant measures 2 3/4 inches long by 1 1/2 inches wide.
