60th Indian Fair & Market

The front of this year’s T-shirts features the 60th Fair & Market Logo above a graphic reproduction of a stamped belt Concho by Master Navajo silversmith, Norbert Peshlakai. This Concho design portrays people, animals, fish, birds, butterflies, dragonflies, and geometric and abstract patterns.

Norbert, a silversmith for over 30 years, is an acknowledged master of stamp work. His work exemplifies the unlimited artistic possibilities within stamping. He makes his own stamps from concrete nails. He has developed his own styles of textures and overlays, for which he is best known. His work has inspired a generation of contemporary silversmiths.

Norbert Peshlakai has been awarded countless ribbons at the Heard Museum’ s Indian Fair and Market, the Santa Fe Indian Market, the Pueblo Grande Indian Market, and other such prestigious shows.

We are honored to feature this example of Norbert’s magnificent work.
