Pottery vase by Tonita Nampeyo (Hopi)
Tonita Nampeyo is the eldest daughter of Fannie Nampeyo and Vinton Polacca and the grand daughter of the famous Hopi potter Nampeyo who is credited with reviving designs from old pottery sherds called Kayenta Anasazi and Sikyatki and was the first Hopi potter to gain international recognition for her pottery. She was born in 1934 and continues to make her pottery with the same traditional methods and designs used by her mother and grandmother.
This vase measures 3 1/2 inches tall by 18 3/4 inches in circumference.
