Low blackware vase by Anita Suazo (Santa Clara)

Anita Suazo was born in 1937 and has been making pottery since 1955. She was taught by her mother Belen Tapia, who was featured in the book "Santa Clara Pottery Today" by Betty LeFree. She frequently works with her husband Joseph Suazo. Museum collections include: Heard Museum, Phoenix, AZ; Smithsonian Museum, permanent collection, Washington, DC; Millicent Rogers Museum, Taos, NM; Museum of New Mexico, Santa Fe, NM.
