Pottery vase with Kachina designs by Mark Tahbo (Hopi)
Mark Tahbo was born in 1958 and is a member of the Spider Clan. He learned the art from his great-grandmother, Grace Chapella, and has been active making pottery since 1978. He has won awards for his pottery from the Heard Museum Guild Indian Market as well as the Santa Fe Indian Market. Mark re-wets each piece and polishes it with a stone to produce the smooth satin sheen which is a distinguishing feature of his work.
This vase measures nearly 5 inches tall by 22 inches in circumference. Approximate diameter measures 7 inches.
